Happy New Year! Welcome to the City of Sandy Springs’ Web site. Sandy Springs is home to 98,000 residents who make this Georgia’s sixth largest city and the second largest in the metro Atlanta area. Sandy Springs continues to grow. US Census Bureau figures show that Sandy Springs is on the move. In 2007, the median household income in Sandy Springs is $72,682, up from $60,428 in 2000. The median home value is $451,200, up more than $135,000.
As we grow, so does our need to provide accessible and accurate information to residents and visitors. We continually update our Web site by adding new features. You can also become a "fan" of the City of Sandy Springs on Facebook for updates on news and events around the City. Follow us on Twitter to receive updates through your computer or mobile phone on road closures and other emergency information. Our goal is to communicate with you the most efficient way possible. Our Citizen Response Center is always open. You can reach someone 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 770-730-5600, whether you need a pothole patched, a business license renewed or want to report graffiti. We are here for you. Sandy Springs has much to offer: The top 10 employers in the City employ 12,200 people; the median age for a Sandy Springs resident is 34; 60 percent of the residents of Sandy Springs have earned a bachelor’s degree and/or a master’s degree; the median household income is more than $72,000.
This winter, we hope you will enjoy our wonderful restaurants, shopping opportunities and historic sites and once spring beckons our impressive local and national park sites. Gasline Replacement Along Peachtree Dunwoody Road
A major gasline replacement project is under way on Peachtree Dunwoody Road between I-285 and Abernathy Road. The majority of the work will be done at night with lane closures scheduled between 7:30 p.m. – 5:30 a.m. The project is expected to last 90 days. Those traveling in the area are advised to use alternate routes whenever possible.
* Some minor work will be done during the daytime off peak hours over the next week. |
